Richard Fisher, CEO of the Federal Reserve in Dallas, and my host at the Fed tonight. The security is pretty intense and reminded me of the movies.

  1. wait, weren’t you just in estonia? haha. i really enjoy these peaks into your world, jurvetson. so fascinating… thanks for the interesting ride.

p.s. say hi to Mr.Fisher for me. haha

  2. Wow, you scared me for a sec. The thumbnail led me to believe you chilling with Rumsfeld.

    Whew! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. so….. any tips on upcoming monetary policy changes ? o:)

  4. just whispers…. "in Spring there will be growth"

  5. This was in Dallas? Did you get a tour of the vault? The rolling carts full of $100s are my favorite… ๐Ÿ™‚

The Fed in downtown San Francisco has the same "growshrink," "buysell" "demandsupply" spinning ball. I didn’t realize there was more than one. (I’d have taken photos but cameras aren’t allowed in the building, and it’s not easy to sneak much past the guards… ;)).

  6. Good eye. It is San Fran. The CEOs of the various Fed Reserve banks were there for an IT pow-wow and terrorism simulation.

I like taking pocket cameras wherever I go. I have found that seeking forgiveness works pretty well. Worst thing that has ever happened was a confiscated battery at an Eagles concert (but I still got the shot =)

  7. Cool. Until recently, I walked by that ball five times a week, so I thought I recognized it from the thumbnail. ๐Ÿ™‚

Did you have a chance to meet Janet Yellen while you were there? Both she and her husband, Nobel laureate George Akerlof, are impressive economists (and people!).

  8. no… but I’m wondering if I should have been less bullish…. ๐Ÿ˜‰
