  1. Huh, most of the lines to the screen come from a blob of silicone. Wild. And that EProm looks pretty jurryrigged.

  3. Cool. You can see the little white pushbuttons on the left side of the PCB, representing power, the four application buttons, and the up/down buttons.

    Oh, and reset sandwiched in the middle there.

    Hmm, what’s the one up front? NM1?

    Edit: Oh, wait: it’s NMI, isn’t it? Non-maskable interrupt.

  4. Looks like its code name was "Touchdown"?

    The prototype’s Graffiti input area is interesting, as it has just a single area to write, with what looks like two silkscreened "buttons" to toggle uppercase and numeric modes (vs. the dedicated numeric silkscreen area on production Palms). Aside from that, the interface looks to have changed little over the past 9 years…
