    Yup… silly me. Using the flash makes all the difference. I thought it would wash out the macro shots, but actually, it seems essential in anything other than broad daylight.

    This was a 2cm distance macro. The camera goes to 1cm, but I can’t fit the lens inside the ant farm…. I might have to let a few out to see if I can get closer…

    "Bearded lady" always reminds me of that scene from the end of Spaceballs:

    Dark Helmet: "Who are you?"
    Bearded Lady: "I’m the Bearded Lady! What’re you, one of the freaks?"
    And then she evicts DH from his escape capsule and takes it herself.
