My wife says it reminds her of the hair she plucks out of my ear canal… I think this must be much prettier.

thanks!
iv0: I don’t think it’s an orchid. It’s some flower like thing. =)
It’s growing outside my office window, and I thought it deserved an macro probe. I was also looking for excuses to see what the 1cm macro focus of this new camera could do.
Rocketeer: Does she use tweezers? It this a regular ritual for ya?

Nice shot and detail! The self-timer tip is a good one, and something I use frequently for night shots. btw, I noticed this photo says it’s from a Ricoh Caplio R2. How does this compare to your Pansonic? Does it have an image stabilizer?
-
Actually, yes to both questions, Steve. Once a month or so, I request the service… It’s hell getting old…
-
complexify: yes. you noticed… The Ricoh does not have OIS. I just posted an early review.
Gustavo: thanks! yes.
Rocket-ear: That’s love right there. =) Remember: nothing smaller than yer elbow in yer ear!
And it gave me an idea for a new photo…. -
Ha! I like yours; that bit of green and the light in the back give it greater depth.

thanks y’all. Vanita comes through reliably with the film archive reference!
Lord Vader: The Ricoh Caplio R2 is known for its macro mode (1cm) and DOF. I think there might be a tilt toward a "pinhole" aperature as it does not do so well in low light conditions. I gave it a poor review
for most modes of operation. But it takes very good macros in bright light and has a nice wide angle. (some more details on this flower photo are in my comments above)I just mailed the camera to my friend Victor1, and I am looking forward to see what he can do with it. He has more skills than me.

Holy and handheld too!
(thanks for the 2 sec delay trick, might come handy)
Fantastic colour and great angle -
I think this photo would make a great addition to the Natural Patterns, Shapes, and Textures (moderated) group. Please consider posting it there!
