  5. Convenience is trumping other factors of late…. There are great rides along Skyline (Montebello, Russian Ridge, etc). Arastradero Preserve is the closest and thus most frequent spot, with a hop over to Foothill Park. I used to enjoy the Alpine road climb, and back when I lived in Walnut Creek, the Mt. Diablo area had a number of good trails.

    One day I would like to travel to Moab. In the summer, Deer Valley, Utah is fantastic.
