  1. This is… YOU COMING BACK!

How great is that! Welcome back to the lines! 😀

  2. Wow, that’s difficult.

It looks like very thin fabric or tissue, wrinkled.

  3. Looks like a rock macro.

  4. something small and organic

  5. MMM, I’d say it looks like an aerial picture of a huge river delta or something alike, lots of water streams that changed their paths over time, and a road running near the top.

  6. Bingo Maximo, a new winner. That is exactly right! It is a desert valley in Arizona en route to Dallas, Tejas.

So, in a way, Alieness’ first guess was correct too. =)

I also thought it looked like rock, some cross between marble and graphite.

  7. Kuddos Max. I am still seeing a marble wall…

Oh, and my first guessing was not much a thing… Your photo silences are always

    >:(

  8. I must say I had some advantage here because I love maps, satellite images and aerial pictures and I work a lot on them (and gps stuff too) and also like to study them, they say so much. And they’re beautiful. I’ll post one here from some inetersting part of Argentina.

  9. Alieness: too funny. This is why flickr is like crack – take a one-night trip, get chastised for "photo silences" =)

Gocarrt: Yeah, I got a number of good views this time. The flight back to my high school was a recapitulation of my life’s migrations: born in Arizona, 12 years in Texas, then to Silicon Valley.

This discussion makes me of aware of yet another way flickr has changed me. I now try to get window seats again (like I did as a boy), after about 15 years of uninspired business travel in the efficient aisle seat.

The simple symbolism of looking out the window again is quite striking now that I stop to think about it.

  10. "I now try to get window seats again (like I did as a boy), after about 15 years of uninspired business travel in the efficient aisle seat."

So you brought back with you the boy you had left in Texas before getting to the valley… I drink to that, Steve. My heart smiles. Really. John lennon sings to Sean -coincidentially- in "Beautiful boy"…

Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.

Happy welcome to you ^2, then. =D

  11. it’s the shot of space between me and my van de graf generator.
