   I agree with eric on that statement… thats why I clicked on it. It reminds me of a photo assignment I did called abstract landscapes… doesn’t fit the exact perameters but it reminds me of is still.

   You should have made that one into "What’s That? (33)". Very interesting. So how did you shoot it? Sunset through a snow mound?

   Thanks everyone…. I was going to make it a puzzle, but for some reason my mind played tricks on me and I thought it was obviously snow. In retrospect, it would have been fun. Everyone who has seen this photo here on the screen says "Whoa. What’s that explosion?"

   Rocketeer: It is a pile of snow covering an outdoor lamp at night. It was something I saw while walking to dinner and a snowball fight in Deer Valley. I just used a macro zoom and no flash and tried to hold my hands steady.

   Eppie: maybe the juxtaposition of Tristan1’s icon freaked you out. 😉

   Dining at Mariposa or Goldener Hirsch? (I am very fond of Park City/Deer Valley dining, an anaomly of fantastic, creative, and expensive food for a state that other wise is diner and fast food exclusive)

    Fantastic shot – I agree with the above comments likening it to an underwater explosion!

    Very nice effect though – I will be keeping an eye out for random lights, shame we don’t get much snow in the UK!
