Baby Spotted Leopard.

It seems that the “blue eye” effect is cuter than “red eye”, in various species….

  1. Awwww…..what a cutie!!!!!!

  2. Did you notice she has the diamond pattern on her head and the "raccoon" or "aviator goggles" pattern around her eyes that most grey tabbies have. Do you think they are related?

    :o)

Here’s an example of what I mean:

  9. That cute blue eyeshine means he’s got a nice little tapetum to better hunt you down in the dark!
My Siamese has red eyeshine because Siamese lack the "normal" tapetum pigment due to their albino genes. Sometimes it freaks out people who are used to the more common cat eyeshine colors.

  10. Adorable and I want to cuddle him.

I once touched a wild cat (I do not know what kind) when I was 19 in the lake-side house of the man who was a notary and later travelled the tropical forests of the world to collect insects. He then created the Insectarium which I am pretty sure you visited with your cousin. When I was in his home 37 years ago, he had a tiger (I really cannot recall which kind exactly though I do visually) in his basement and took him out in his living room while I sat in front of the large adult cat. I touched him, patted him while Georges Brossard held the leach tightly and told me that the cat once thrashed the house. I was partially conscious of the great danger. Today, I am happy to be alive. Anyway, that was a unique experience.

  11. Wow. What an experience!

  12. I just saw on the news about a baby Sumatran Tiger at a zoo in Jerusalem who was abandoned by his mother. This reminds me that I meant a tiger. Momentary lapse. Yes, it was some kind of tiger. I will make the correction.
