In my planet leaves look exactly like that… I guess the radiactive components of the soil makes the sap glow that way…

It’s a specialty acid bath, tuned for particular materials. I mention it in the 2nd comment on an earlier photo, my personal favorite of the series.

A Madison-area artist whose name I don’t recall regularly feaures leaves (a variety of kinds) treated in this way and variously colored/coated/plated, etc. I’ve seen this work at the Fanny Garver Gallery on State St. (Disclaimer: a customer but no other connection.)
