   My salamander spotting friend found a large California Tiger Salamander last year in the same place as we found this one.

   I wonder if this one has a juvenile color pattern?

   Arboreal salamander. Definitely. I’ve run into them myself.

   I just found a new one earlier this morning. Their little burrows can be seen when lifting a large rock or piece of wood off the ground.
