  1. costumes for horses! great.

  2. LOL, this is a funny idea! 😀

Thanks to gail for providing the link to your picture!

  3. If Mother Nature knew about this!

Cosmetics vs genetics… a daily life battle, isn´t it? LOL

EXCELLENT photo, w/tha tittle, of course. =)

  4. Hey, that ain’t easy! And, er, is that a black horse with white stripes, or a white horse with black stripes? I wonder what kind of paint/coloring one uses? Gotta be waterproof, right? And obviously, non-toxic. No clue what they make that meets both criteria.
Oh, and what a fun shot this is!

  5. Don’t forget the mane! ;-))
    Great!

  6. This reminds me of a horse that was painted for a movie. It later died from the chemicals absorbed. Make sure you check what paint you use.

  7. Whoa! And for the movies no less….

    Life imitates art:

I don’t know the person in this photo, but the horse turned out ok. Perhaps water based paint is safer than spraypaint.

  8. Oh! Here we have a chocolate brand called "Milka" and the logotype is light violet and the image that represents them is a cow in a mountain landscape… a Switzerland-esque moment, that is.

They used to paint the cow violet with the "milka" inscription in white… it is well known that the cow didn´t make it.

    =(

  9. I hope they used photoshop!

  10. So did the horse live?

  11. Why yes…. but with a bit of humiliation perhaps…. =)

And thanks to all of your collective input, flickr has decided that this photo has “interestingness” =)
    Aitah!

  12. …and yet, if you sort all pictures tagged with "horse" by interestingness, this one come in last. weird.

EDIT: now that I’ve commented, it’s jumped out of last place.

  13. So, I had a friend surfing the internet the other day and she sends me the link and much to my suprise, this is both myself and my horse! I even remember the picture being taken. I love the way the shot turned out and I’m glad it’s so popular. Yes, he’s fine. He hasn’t required any extensive therapy and black non-toxic hairspray is completly harmless…

I hope you don’t mind I’ve taken a copy of this picture to show friends…

  14. This reminds me of a childhood story that someone might tell a psychologist. My parents told me it was a zebra, but it was a painted horse, and now… I can’t trust anyone.
    How totally wrong!

  15. The horse looks really unhappy..

  16. I saw a horse painted up as a zebra in Hyde Park, Sydney, a few weeks ago for the filming of a TV commercial. Funny thing is they’d even trimmed, groomed and painted his mane to look like a zebra’s mohawk….AND they had only painted him from one side (including the inside of his front and back leg which could be seen). From the other side, he still looked like a regular white horse. Odd!!!

  17. @Lil: haha, saving on paint

  18. Now that is a horse of a different color… sorry 🙂

  19. is this healthy for the horse.

  20. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called National Trust for Hysteric Preservation, and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.

  21. Very good and cool pictures. I wish I have one.
