A Rapid Scheduled Disassembly… or ship breaking in the Desert.

Big Imagination Foundation is breaking down the 747 into chunks so it can be shipped to Vegas… of course! It had its final tour of the playa at Burning Man this year. Such a big boy, and so primitive inside, a design from the Apollo era.

And… so many rivets to pop. Paul & Anne Ehrlich would be proud to see these rivet poppers on the plane. It’s still holding together! 🙂 For reference, here is the preface to their 1981 book Extinction.
